Course Catalog:  Advanced Lineworker
Course Title Description Enroll
Advanced Lineworker Phase 1 This 3 day class is made up of three modules which will teach the importance of: Protective Grounding: By installing protective grounds and short-circuiting leads to prevent accidental energizing, static charges, induced voltage and how the placement of personal protective grounds influences your overall effectiveness. This module will also teach you the principles of grounding, and why they’re so important to your process. The process will properly outline the procedure and approved grounding equipment for installing temporary safe working grounds on de-energized circuits. Transformer Fundamentals: Will teach you how to interpret information on transformer nomenclatures in order to implement safe operations. This module provides a review of electrical measurements, Theory of Distribution Transformer Operations, Ohm`s Law, series and parallel circuits, and their application. Transformer Connections: Aids you in determining where the problem could be occurring. In this module you will gain an understanding of how to solve real world problems using miniature transformers with actual voltages flowing through it to gain a great experience on problem solving.    More info
Advanced Lineworker Phase 2 This 3 day class will teach simplifying substations and switchyards. As well as the needed functions and safety requirements for working with all types of substation operating equipment. Schematic and One-Line Diagrams are discussed to enable you to identify problems that could occur within a substation in a real life situation. This session also reviews transformers and circuit breaker drawings. The student must have completed Advanced Lineworker Certificate Training Phase 1 to enroll.    More info
Advanced Lineworker Phase 3 This 3 day class teaches three-phase connections and troubleshooting during emergencies. Phasers are the key to transformer bank construction, troubleshooting and emergency transformer bank problem-solving. Provides needed hands-on problem solving training through the study and analysis of miniature transformers. The student must have completed Advanced Lineworker Certificate Training Phase 2 to enroll.    More info
Advanced Lineworker Phase 4 This 3 day class looks at the operations of protective devices and how they would function in an emergency situation. You will also learn how to isolate faulted segments of line so that power is restored to customers quickly and safely. The student must have completed Advanced Lineworker Certificate Training Phase 3 to enroll.    More info
Advanced Lineworker Phase 5 This is the final class in the overall completion of the Advanced Lineworker Certificate Training. This 3 day class discusses pad mounted transformers and switching cabinets, and “live front” and “dead front” for future operations on units. Switching units will also be covered in this section in order to ensure continuity in service that is received when converting. The student must have completed Advanced Lineworker Certificate Training Phase 4 to enroll. Upon completion of an entire program an Overall Completion certificate will given to you for your hard work.    More info
